But why all the excitement, you might ask?

Because the v1.3 release of Dispensary Details for WooCommerce marks the beginning of accurate stock quantity management for your dispensary with WooCommerce.

Better Stock Quantity Management for Dispensaries with WooCommerce

By default, WooCommerce reduces the stock quantity of each product by the amount of times the product itself is purchased.

That may work if you list 1 oil cartridge or 1 pre-roll or 1 tincture, but this becomes a problem with variable products, like your flowers.

Looking at the different flower weight variables dispensaries offer, an eighth purchased 1 time will reduce only 1 from your stock quantity, instead of the 3.5 grams that you would expect it to.

This release fixes that problem!

Proper gram weight reduction from stock quantity

This update to the Dispensary Details for WooCommerce plugin is meant to help you accurately manage your stock.

Since a quarter ounce should reduce the available grams in your stock by 7 instead of 1, you are now able to track exact weight’s sold with each sale.

Now if a patient orders an eighth from your site, the stock will reduce by 3.5 – or whatever number you put into the input field, which you can see below.

Ability to reduce stock quantity by decimals

As you can see above, another feature that’s built into this release of the Dispensary Details for WooCommerce plugin is the ability to reduce stock quantity by numbers with decimal points.

So, 1/8 oz can be reduced by 3.5, or you can offer grams that weigh 1.1 and track the weight accurately via your WooCommerce product page.

Product Data Tabs

Version 1.3 of the Dispensary Details for WooCommerce plugin also includes a major clean up of product data editing in the admin dashboard.

Previously, there were separate boxes that took up way too much space on the screen.

For companies who don’t sell Edibles, Growers, Topicals, Tinctures and Compounds, the extra data boxes are just clutter on the screen.

In version 1.3 when you’re editing Compound Details for your flower products, or adding the serving size and weight in the Edible Details, you will do it right within the WooCommerce Product Data box.

This section is already designated for WooCommerce product data, so it makes sense to move the dispensary data there, too.

This helps keep all of the non required product details hidden from view when you’re adding new products.
